Bread in Egypt

In Egypt, we learned the word they use In Arabic for bread is "aish". The young man who served us this bread near the pyramids taught us many words. When we got home we learned the Arabic word for bread everywhere else is "khobz". It is only called "aish" in Egypt. "Aish" is the Arabic word for "life". It was in the news because of the bread shortage in Egypt with the fires in Russia destroying the wheat.

Bread is subsidized in Egypt so even the very poor can buy it. About half of the people in Egypt live on less than $2 a day.

We believe Jesus is the bread of life. What an interesting connection.
