This is cave 4 at Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. The scrolls were found on 11 caves in the area. Of the Old Testament, only Esther was missing. The books of the Apocrypha were also found. Only the book of Isaiah was fully intact. The scrolls were kept by a group of men called the Essenes. The scrolls were written on goatskins.
The Essenes left the area by 67 AD but hid the scrolls in jars before they left.
